Touche turtle1/7/2024 ![]() Touché is a heavy sleeper, even for a turtle. He loves his friends dearly and is fiercely protective of them anybody who hurts his friends are immediately considered scum, and he won’t hesitate to kill them if provoked enough. He often tries to hide his emotions from others, so they don’t worry about him, but he is known to dislike it when others do it for his sake, as he wants to lift their burdens. He’s incredibly altruistic and loves doing good deeds for the sake of doing them he’ll never turn down a request for help, even on his day off. In certain ways, he’s his own harshest critic. The feeling of guilt for his actions when he was younger is what drives him to become the best hero for hire he can be, and he won’t tolerate failure from himself or others. Having come from destitution himself, he has compassion for people of lower status, and despises classism, deeming it to be one of the world’s greatest evils. While he’s very professional when on business, anyone who knows him describes him as courteous, friendly with those he meets, and possessing a dry wit he also possesses an odd, outgoing personality and loves playing pranks on people. He does respect the law, but also makes his own judgement calls regarding people he’s assigned to capture, hence why he’s squarely in the neutral territory.ĭespite his numerous faults, Touché truly is a good person at heart. Similar to Ricochet, Touché prefers giving others a second chance after disarming them, but he has no qualms of killing those who have killed innocents or have harmed his loved ones, believing that it’ll save people money by ending it then and there. Unlike Ricochet and Droop-a-Long, however, he can’t weaponize his anger in a fight, as it causes him to become reckless and leads to him getting hurt. Though he considers himself coolheaded in comparison to most people, Touché actually possesses a hot temper that, when unleashed, takes a while to go away, and when angry he’s quicker to violence. Praise inflates his ego, and while it’s not hard to break, it can be bruised. ![]() His reputation as a hero has made him rather arrogant, and it’s said that he can give Ricochet a run for his money with his posturing. This led to a change of heart, although greed and pride are still two main vices of his although he markets himself as a “free hero”, he can never turn away from an amount of money, no matter how little it is, and he had a habit of trying to butter someone up for more money. ![]() His mentor, Harebrain, punished him for this by closing his business, but also taught him to look out for others and not just himself. At first, he started it due to being destitute when he arrived in France, but later became greedy, and even lied to get a bigger paycheck. Before he started getting into the habit of doing good deeds daily just for the sake of them, Touché originally did them for the money–in his early days as a hero, the hero who did the greatest deed got a bigger reward. Despite being known for disliking greed, cowardice, and violence, he’s been known to give in to any of the three when he’s either up against the wall or forgoes his calm manner. In addition to his shortsightedness, he can be very demeaning and hypocritical, often criticizing people for doing the same mistake he made. As such, he’s considered to be one of the greatest heroes in modern history, a title he wears with much pride.Īs much as he likes to believe he is, Touché isn’t perfect. Unlike most heroes for hire, he makes many of his services free of charge as he knows that most of the people he helps are peasants. He takes his jobs very seriously and won’t stop for anyone until it’s finished. However, his ingenuity is something to be admired. He is considerably smarter than the sheepdog, but isn’t always bright, and can miss obvious things right in front of him his friends like to call his ignorance as “shortsightedness”. Between him and Dum-Dum, Touché is the brave one always rushing in shouting his catchphrase, "Touché away!" in the face of danger.
